Ramallah Municipality Signs Partnership Agreement with PalPay for 2026 Activities

Ramallah — The Mayor of Ramallah, Issa Kassis, signed a partnership agreement with the General Manager of PalPay, Thaer Hamayel, for the sponsorship of the municipality's events and activities for the year 2026. The agreement falls within the framework of the Private Sector Partnerships Program, through which the company joins the list of partners who signed partnership packages with the municipality at the beginning of the year.

The partner companies are distributed across four main packages, as follows:

Package One: Arab Bank, The National Bank, Bank of Palestine, Palestine Telecommunications Group (Jawwal), National Beverage Company, Arab Palestinian Investment Company (APIC), and Mada Company.

Package Two: Cairo Amman Bank.

Package Three: PalPay, Bank of Jerusalem (Quds Bank), Housing Bank, Palestine Islamic Bank, Ooredoo, and NewCash.

Package Four: Al-Mashreq Insurance Company, Mona and Bassem Hishmeh Foundation, and Al-Huda Petroleum Company.

Mayor Issa Kassis affirmed that PalPay's inclusion in the 2026 Partnerships Program represents a valuable addition to the municipality's efforts to develop its services and strengthen its community programs. He pointed to the importance of this step in supporting the move toward digital transformation and expanding the horizons of cooperation with the private sector.

He added that this partnership reflects the municipality's commitment to building effective relationships that contribute to improving the quality of life in the city, through the implementation of initiatives and activities that serve citizens and promote sustainable development in Ramallah.

For his part, PalPay General Manager Thaer Hamayel said that this partnership comes within the framework of the company's commitment to supporting digital transformation and raising community awareness of digital financial services. He emphasized that the company's role is not limited to developing solutions, but also includes active presence at community events and direct engagement with the public to introduce them to the e-wallet services and how to use them.

Hamayel added that the agreement aims to support the Ramallah Municipality's efforts in serving the community through participation in various events and programs, and to contribute to spreading the culture of electronic payment and strengthening citizens' trust in digital services. He noted that this cooperation embodies the importance of integrating roles between the private sector and local authorities to build a community that is more aware of and prepared for digital transformation.
